“Jesteśmy tu razem czy każdy osobno?”

The necklace is inspired by a quote taken from a piece of graffiti in Łódź. It is made of two hemispheres whose surfaces are covered with an enamelled pattern. The title of the work refers directly to its construction and to the way the object is perceived. Seen from above, the two elements form one coherent composition in which the pattern merges into a single whole. A change of perspective reveals, however, that the necklace consists of two separate hemispheres, and the pattern breaks apart into two independent motifs. The piece uses form and perspective to talk about the relationship between the individual and the community – how two distinct elements can form one whole while remaining separate beings.
