Telling a story

This piece is inspired by the idea of storytelling. In the past, stories were passed down orally from generation to generation; here I tried to translate them into a graphic record.

The object is made of four layers of acrylic engraved with sound-wave recordings. Each layer is a separate story. Three are on clear acrylic and one on coloured acrylic, on purpose: the colour is meant to stand out from the rest. We hear countless stories in our lives, but only some of them stay with us. That layer represents the most important ones.
